CHESAPEAKE JOURNEY-NATIONAL HARBOR New Projects
Creative Design Resolutions, Inc. recently designed a 1,618 square foot custom concrete FŌTERA™ mural for the new $4B National Harbor building project in Maryland. It is believed to be the largest mural of its kind in the world. This elaborate hardscape mural consists of a map of the Mid-Atlantic coastal region and is inlayed into the National Harbor Center Balcony, which overlooks the Chesapeake Bay. The mural identifies local cities including icons and key monuments famous to each. Hidden imagery of regional wildlife and portraits of important local figures are veiled throughout the mural, creating a sense of discovery for viewers that evokes the exploratory spirit of John Smith’s surveying of the region in 1608.
